Denver Premium Outlets

A tailored strategy

Certification of this 96-acre outlet mall called for a carefully crafted strategy.

Problem

Denver Premium Outlets is a 96-acre, 368,000 square foot outlet mall owned and developed by Simon, a global leader in premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations, who has committed to sustainability across their portfolio. Given the project’s scale, it was important to identify a cost-effective path toward LEED certification, provide clear guidance to multiple consultants on the design team, and streamline the LEED certification process to avoid adding complexity or delays.

Solution

Design-stage feasibility & cost analysis.

To set the project on track, Sol worked closely with the design team and owner to identify the incremental cost of potential sustainability improvements and to chart the most cost-effective path toward LEED certification.

In-house energy consulting.

Sol’s team provided energy modeling throughout the design process, including both design-stage analysis to identify the most effective energy conservation measures and compliance analysis for certification.

Streamlined documentation & review.

Sol’s team managed LEED documentation, reviewed drawings and submittals, and provided commissioning. We worked closely with the architects and their consultants to ensure that all strategies were incorporated into drawings, specifications, and tenant agreements.
