ReBuild Presentation: Comparing LEED v5 to LEED v5

Sol partners Carl Sterner and Nate Steeber presented at the ReBuild Conference last week, leading a session entitled "LEED v4 vs LEED v5: A Case Study." The presentation looked at how a real project certified under LEED BD+C v4 would perform under LEED v5, without changes to the design.

Among the key takeaways were:

  1. An overarching emphasis on measuring carbon aligns well with existing reporting frameworks and commitments that owners may be seeking to meet.
  2. Resilience is a key focus area, with real benefits to building owners and operators in terms of future-proofing assets and reducing risks of disruptions.
  3. The approach to materials has been streamlined and simplified, allowing greater flexibility in pursuing priorities that are important to a project.
