Findlay Parkside Featured by the National Trust for Historic Preservation

Findlay Parkside is reshaping Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine (OTR) through a major redevelopment effort led by Model Group

The project was recently profiled by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in an article titled, "Four Ways to Experience Findlay Parkside in Cincinnati". The article highlighted how reusing long-vacant buildings has added new housing, retail storefronts for BIPOC-owned businesses, and spaces for community gatherings in the blocks around Findlay Market.

According to the National Trust, this work connects OTR’s rich Italianate architectural history with forward-looking development, transforming underused spaces into a thriving, mixed-use neighborhood. These changes are drawing in new residents, supporting local jobs, and building a stronger 24/7 market district.

Findlay Parkside's dedication to historic preservation and community revitalization has been acknowledged by an esteemed organization like the National Trust, demonstrating how thoughtful development can celebrate a neighborhood's rich past while simultaneously building a more sustainable and prosperous future.

As the project’s sustainability consultant, Sol design + consulting is guiding Findlay Parkside’s pursuit of LEED Silver certification. Their team brings over 25 years of experience in green building consulting, including extensive experience in the intersection of historic preservation and green building. Sol collaborated closely with the design and construction teams to integrate sustainability seamlessly into the project alongside historic and programmatic requirements.

Together, these efforts demonstrate the power of collaboration to create a revitalized, inclusive, and environmentally responsible Over-the-Rhine.
