Sanyog Rathod named 2025 LEED Fellow
A new class of LEED Fellows has been announced by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). LEED Fellow is the highest distinction for green building professionals. This year, 23 leaders from around the world are honored for their expertise in LEED, a globally respected green building rating system, and their exceptional contributions to advancing sustainable building practices.
Among those celebrated is Sol design + consulting’s Founder and CEO, Sanyog B. Rathod. His accomplishments over three decades of leadership and service have included certifying the United States’ first LEED for Homes Midrise Platinum housing for the homeless, and, globally, the largest single-phase LEED for Homes Platinum project in the world and the first LEED Platinum home in the Middle East.
Rathod has devoted his career and advocacy toward sustainable, affordable housing, green historic preservation, and the promotion of green building programs. Since the launch of LEED for Homes in 2006, he has played a key role in growing and promoting the program on behalf of USGBC.
“LEED represents more than a certification system; it continues to be a transformative movement driving meaningful change in the built environment,” said Rathod. “Becoming a LEED Fellow is an opportunity to amplify my contributions to this movement. I aim to continue to shape the future of sustainable design while mentoring the next generation of leaders who will carry this work forward.”
Rathod has certified more than 400 residential and commercial projects across 16 U.S. states, and was one of the first eight International Green Raters to deliver LEED for Homes globally. Through his work as a green building consultant, Rathod and Sol have transformed approaches to affordable housing and historic preservation, positioning Cincinnati as a national model for sustainable design.

Sol design + consulting congratulates Sanyog Rathod and looks forward to continuing to advance resilient, inclusive, and low-carbon design in communities across the U.S. and beyond.
